Listed below are some notes
and reminders regarding the CJV Local League Program.
League Games:
Most League Games will be at
the Sports Connection #2 facility. We may have one weekend at
the Charlotte Sports Center later in the season. Check the
website for details. League games for the first 3 Saturdays are
posted on our website.
Parents may want to bring
folding chairs to the Saturday League Games. Please do not
bring food or drinks into the volleyball court area during the
league games or at any other time.
Practices:
The practice times are posted
on the website and all teams should have completed their first
or second practices by now. The website and your coach will let
you know if any future practices will be cancelled. If CMS is
cancelled due to bad weather, all CJV practices will also be
cancelled.
We plan on having practices on
January 15 (MLK Day) and February 19 (President’s Day), but of
course understand if people cannot make it due to family plans.
We ask that parents use their
own judgment regarding staying and watching practices. The
Volleyball Center is not well designed for spectators when all 4
courts are being used for practices. Most all of the Sport
Court area around the courts is playable area, so we ask if you
are going to stay and watch, please do so from the bleachers
area if possible. During League games we will not be using all
4 courts, so there will be “some” extra space for spectators.
Sports Connection #2
Facility:
Our volleyball center was
built specifically for the Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club.
You are all members of the CJV Club. We ask that you help take
care of YOUR facility. This could include picking up trash if
you see it, getting extra paper towels or toiler paper from
under the counter when needed, making sure people keep food and
drinks out of the playing area, or emailing us if you see a need
or problem. THANK YOU.
Teams/Players:
This year’s CJV Program has
over 400 girls from over 100 different schools and over 40
coaches. Our goal is to provide ALL girls with opportunity to
PRACTICE Volleyball and have FUN along the way.
We have tried to divide the
League Program into Groups and Teams that will allow ALL girls
to get the most out of the CJV Local Program. Of course, with
over 200 girls ranging from 4th-11th grade
from 100 different schools, not everyone is going to be able to
play in the exact group or team they would like to. We will
continue to evaluate girls and move them if it benefits the
League Program, Team and Individual.
Uniforms:
The team t-shirts/uniforms
should be here in time for Saturday, January 20th
League game. If the shirts arrive in time, we will give them
out at practice, or on Saturday, January 20th .
Girls can wear whatever color shorts, socks etc. they choose.
Playing Time:
All girls will receive equal
playing time at Practices and League Games.
Thank You For Your Support
Of Girls Youth Volleyball!
