Overview
With over 600 girls and more than 60 teams playing in the CJV Non Travel
Program last year, the CJV Club is again offering the “Gold Level” Non
Traveling Option this year.
The Gold Level will
require tryouts and only the best 120-140 players will be selected for
12 teams (Approximate 6 teams for 9-12th graders and 6 teams for 7-8th
graders). These teams will have 10-12 players per team. Teams will be
divided equally and probably practice and play at the same time per age
group.
The goal of these teams are to provide a team setting for the higher
level player with more specific team training and individual
development. League games will follow normal USAV volleyball rules and
regulations. Playing time may not be equal in all league games, but each
player will play in each league match each weekend.
Seasons
Season 1: January 2 – March 4 (9 weeks)

Tryouts
Season 1: December 3 - 6,
2011
Season 2: March 5-10, 2012
7-8th graders - March 5 and 6 from 7-9pm at Granite location (South)
9-12th graders - March 7 and 8 from 7-9pm at Granite location (South)
*We will announce separate tryouts for the North location if the program
fills and it is necessary - otherwise, all girls will tryout together.
We understand that some players may have to miss part or all of one day
of tryouts due to other commitments
(players should come to both nights of tryouts if they are able,
however, players will not be penalized if they miss one or part of one
night of tryouts).
If you do not make a Gold Level team you will be placed on a Silver
level team ONLY IF you indicate on your registration form that you want to
play either level.
Locations
There will be Non-Traveling Gold Teams in South
Charlotte (Sports Connection on Granite Street) and in North
Charlotte (Sports Connection - Northlake). Most league
games will be held at the Sports Connection (South).
Age Groups
We will form approximately six teams
of 7th-8th graders.
We will form approximately six teams
of 9th-12th graders.
Each team will have 10-12 girls.
Teams are divided based on skill,
so girls may or may not be playing with their friends or classmates.
Practices
Practices for
Session 2 begin the week of March 19, 2012.
Each Level will have 1-2 practices per week for 1-2 hours each.
Practice times and days will vary based on what team you are playing
with. Most practices will be sometime from 4-10 PM on Mondays through
Thursdays, Fridays 4-8 PM or Sundays 1-9 PM. Requests will be
taken but are not guaranteed. South teams will practice at
the Sports Connection on Granite Street, North teams will practice at
Sports Connection - Northlake.
Playing Time
Playing time may not be equal in all league
games, but each player will play in each league match each weekend.

Cost
$249* for 9 week season (Includes T-Shirt)
due at time of registration.
*plus $25 Sports Connection Players Card fee (annual)
