Overview
The CJV Non-Traveling Teams
will provide girls in grades 3rd - 12th an
opportunity to play volleyball on a weekly basis
with other players of similar skill levels from
the Charlotte area.
Non-Traveling Teams will practice 1-2 times each
week and compete in 6 local league competition
on the weekends. The weekend volleyball leagues
are designed to provide a fun and competitive
environment with no out of town traveling.
Having league games locally will not only give
all girls great practice and competition, but
also save time and money on travel, and allow
the girls (and their families) to participate in
other sports or activities on the weekends.
CJV now offers two levels of
teams for the Non-Traveling Program. The
Gold
Level requires tryouts. The goal of
these teams are to provide a team setting for
the higher level player with more specific team
training and individual development. League
games will follow normal USAV volleyball rules
and regulations. The
Silver Level does not require tryouts
and is for all levels of players with a heavy
emphasis on skill development and working on
team concepts.

Season 1: January 4 – March 8 (9 weeks)
Season 2: March 30– May 31 (9 weeks)

Locations
There will be Non-Traveling
Teams in South Charlotte (Sports Connection on
Granite Street) and
Non-Traveling Teams in North Charlotte (Charlotte Sports Center).
Other Volleyball Club from the area may also
participate in weekend league games. Most
league games will be held at the Sports
Connection (South).

The goal is to form approximately 30 teams with
about 10-12 players per team.

Player requests to play with friends will be
allowed when possible, but may not be possible
in all cases.
The goal of the
CJV Non-Traveling Teams is to
match all girls up with other players of similar
skill levels to help them improve their
volleyball skills and have a fun and competitive
experience playing volleyball.
Age Groups
3rd
- 6th Graders, 7th
- 8th Graders, 9th
- 12th Graders
Practices
Each Level will have
1-2 practices per week for 1-2 hours each.
Practice times and days will vary based on what
team you are playing with. Most practices will
be sometime from 4-10 PM on Mondays through
Thursdays, Fridays 4-8 PM or Sundays 1-9 PM.
Requests will be considered if a player needs to
switch teams because of a conflict in practice
times or for carpooling needs. South teams
will practice at the Sports Connection on
Granite Street, North
teams will practice at the Charlotte Sports
Center.
Playing Time
All girls will
receive Playing Time at each League
Competition. Playing time on the younger and
more developmental teams will be equal. Playing
time on the more competitive teams, may not be
equal in all league games.
