Season 2
Overview
After meeting with many coaches, other
volleyball clubs, and reviewing other Youth
Programs in the area like Lacrosse, Softball,
Soccer, the CJV Club realized there is no need
for our volleyball players to travel 3-4 hours
and pay extra money to play competitive
volleyball. There are plenty of girls of all
levels in the 704 and 803 area codes to practice
and play competitive and recreational
volleyball. The Non-Traveling Program will
be made up of girls ranging from the beginner
level to stars on their JV and Varsity high
school teams.
This year, CJV
will form volleyball teams and play in the CJVL
(Carolina Juniors Volleyball Leagues). These
league games will be in Charlotte on Saturdays
or Sundays and be about 2 hours of play on 7
weekends during each season. Having these
league games locally will not only give all
girls great practice and competition, but also
save time and money on travel, and allow the
girls (and their families) to participate in
other sports or activities on the weekends.
Other area
Volleyball Clubs and Teams may also be
participating in the CJVL Leagues on the
weekends.
Locations
There will be Non-Traveling
Teams in South Charlotte (Sports Connection on
Granite Street) and
Non-Traveling Teams in North Charlotte (Charlotte Sports Center).
Other Volleyball Club from the area may also
participate in weekend league games. Most
league games will be held at the Sports
Connection (South).
Dates
Season 1 -
January 6, 2008 - March 16, 2008 (10 Weeks)
Season 2 -
March 30, 2008 - June 8, 2008 (10 Weeks)
Teams
The goal is to form approximately 30 teams with
about 10-12 players per team.
Player requests to play with friends will be
allowed when possible, but may not be possible
in all cases.
The goal of the
CJV Non-Traveling Teams is to
match all girls up with other players of similar
skill levels to help them improve their
volleyball skills and have a fun and competitive
experience playing volleyball.
Teams will be separated by Ages and some of the
Age Groups may be sub-divided into separate
divisions based on Skill Level.
Age Groups
3rd
- 6th Graders, 7th
- 8th Graders, 9th
- 12th Graders
Tryouts
All girls
wishing to play on a CJV Non-Traveling Team will
be placed on a team provided there is space
available. Registrations will be accepted on a
first come basis. Girls will then be divided
into multiple teams after the first few
practices.
Practices
There will be
1-2 practices per week for 1-2 hours each.
Practice times and days will vary based on what
team you are playing with. Most practices will
be sometime from 4-10 PM on Mondays through
Thursdays, Fridays 4-8 PM or Sundays 1-7 PM.
Requests will be considered if a player needs to
switch teams because of a conflict in practice
times or for carpooling needs. South teams
will practice at the Sports Connection on
Granite Street, North
teams will practice at the Charlotte Sports
Center.

Playing Time
All girls will
receive Playing Time at each League
Competition. Playing time on the younger and
more developmental teams will be equal. Playing
time on the more competitive teams, may not be
equal in all league games.
League Dates
Season 1: 7 Saturdays or Sundays from
January 6, 2008 – March 10, 2008.
A complete schedule will be posted once teams
are selected.

Jan 26-27, Feb 2-3, Feb 9-10, Feb 23-24, March
1-2, March 8-9, March 15-16
(You will play on either Saturday or Sunday, not
both)
Season 2 - 7
Saturdays or Sundays from March 30, 2008 – June

April 19-20, April 26-27, May 3-4, May 10-11,
May 17-18, May 31-June 1, June 7-8
(You will play on either Saturday or Sunday, not

Cost
$249 Per Girl
(Includes Team T-Shirt) due at time of
registration.
